Teaches (and tests) out of the textbook. Relies heavily on groupwork. Course had a group test component as well. Questions are presented either in a confusing way, designed to trick or are simple but graded very difficult.Overall a boring prof, doesn't seem very interested in the topics or students makes unfunny jokes & ALWAYS teaches overtime.

Tests were easy and she gives a study review sheet. Fair marker, but beware of group projects and individual assignments that take time but are easy. Lectures arent the most exciting but is interesting material. I would suggest a textbook but wouldnt be mandatory. Great prof overall

The classes themselves were fine, and the individual assignments are fun and you'll learn a lot, but oh my god the group assignments sucked. She recycles the individual work and then gets mad when you use the same answers you had for the same questions. Incredibly frustrating, would not take again.

An all around solid professor. Pros: No essays or tough exams, prints out lecture slides for everyone, multiple-choice tests, gives interesting lectures and includes lots of photos, always tries to make jokes that never land. Cons: A bit old fashioned in her teaching style, frequent group work, you have to read the textbook.

V knowledgable. V group heavy class. I feel like she didn't involve the students in enough discussions during class, but group participation was essential. The textbook was not heavily used aside from exact definitions. Never used Nexus, which was a little challenging for notes. But she's accessible. Great course in the end. Not the prof 4 me.

Dr. Clarkson is one of the best professors I've had so far. Her feedback on papers is incredible. She really cares about her students, and if you really care about the material she will help you succeed. I learned so much from her in this class, and would take it 100 more times if I could. Super good class if you're interested in doing research.

I appreciate her work ethics and when we all get to participate in her lectures. She has great examples that make larger concepts easier to visualize. You never want to get her mad, because she seems like someone you wouldn't want to cross. She is passionate about anthropology and has some interesting stories that she is always willing to share.

She is the most amazing prof I have ever had. I have taken 3 of her courses and she is such a wonderful person. First of all, she is hilarious which makes early classes bearable. She is a fair marker and if you show a passion and hand in things on time, she becomes more leinant throughout. Group work is easy and fun. She gives great feedback.

The group work was so much fun and really enjoyable! If there was no participation in the lectures-painfully boring. Tests were super easy but make sure to read the E-reserves!!! No nexus though

You definitely need to read the textbook. Read in advance because she will just skim over the important stuff in class a give examples. Very good prof. Very nice, fair marker. No papers and no final exam but weekly small excercises based on textbook. I would take it again. Very flexible and understanding.

Clarkson is an really kind prof. If you want to do well in the class, and are willing to put in time to read the textbook this class is an easy A+. Attending lectures is a must, as a lot of what she says in class shows up on the test. Test are easy, however they are long and you are only given 50 mins. She is always more than willing to give help!

Easy A if u read the book & e-reserves. Working with groups made the class more fun (lectures can be long). Showed videos but I thought they were interesting and she tested on some of them. Loved that there was no final exam. Felt like this was a low maintenance class that I could just enjoy being in. She was clear, helpful and nice.

Clarkson was a wonderful instructor. Although her lectures could sometimes be as dry as watching grass grow, she had a friendly, humorous personality. The worst part of the classes were the videos she'd show us, they were painfully boring. But other than that she's a great professor and I had no problems with her

Clarkson is a professor who is extremely knowledgeable on the Anthropological topics she discusses in class. The only real downside is that the lectures seem to get extremely dry and long. All you really need to do for a good mark is show up, at least study the summary of the textbook and actually read the e-reserves (trust me, they are important).

only 2 term tests worth 50% of your grade each. She doesn't use nexus so u pretty much have to write down everything she says in class to get a decent mark on both tests. don't recomend for an elective.

It's a fairly easy course. There's a lot of assignments and group projects that are easy marks as long as you read the book and attend lectures. The group projects will make you think depending on what background knowledge you have. Overall, an amazing class and teacher, funny sometimes. I learned a lot and made me love Archaeology even more.

Thought Intro to Cultural Anth was fun with her. Her tests were easyfair if you read the textbook and paid attention. Shows videos and prepares her lectures - DOES NOT USE NEXUS. Lots of group work but it allows for socializing. Didn't even really study too much.. Good class to take for fun. Lectures are long sometimes. Good prof overall.

There were only two tests for the course i was in, which sounds great in theory right? Wrong. She gives ZERO information on what to expect for the test and expects you to have memorized six weeks worth of material for a chance it showing up on the 'test' which is basically an exam. Definitely not for everyone.

Just show up and read the reserves. Grading is not too bad. There was not a final exam for the class I took; but 2 term tests which weren't bad. Read your textbook and highlight what she covers in class. She does not use Nexus but just take notes from her power points. Lots of group work but it's fun and you can socialize. Fun class discussions.
